Nokia Internet Tablets (2006-2007)

Boyd de Groot

Nokia’s Total Online Experience program for the Internet Tablet product line

Nokia Internet Tablets was the name given to a range of Nokia mobile Internet products. The product line ranged from the Nokia 770 launched in late 2005 to the Nokia N810 WiMAX launched in spring 2008.

Despite Nokia’s strong association with cellular products, the Internet Tablet models were not phones, but instead allowed the user to browse the Internet and communicate using Wi-Fi networks or with a mobile phone via Bluetooth.

My role

From early 2006 to early 2007 Satama Interactive was responsible for the Total Online Experience (TOE) of the Internet Tablet product line defining the overall experience from marketing to sales to owner-support.

I was involved as design lead and concept designer in several projects:

  • Design and implementation of ‘Tableteer’, the dedicated owner’s site for Internet Tablet users.
  • Optimizing the online shopping experience in cooperation with the shopping platform vendor.
  • Creating online campaigns for the Nokia 770 and N800 to drive online sales.
